| Site Appearence |
The Federation of International Lacrosse™ (FIL™) web development team designed this website with you in mind: the lacrosse player, coach, official and casual or serious fan.
We've tried to organize the information in an easy-to-use navigational structure that remembers who you are (see "Cookies" section below), where you've been on the site, and what you're most interested in.
The site is best viewed with a minimum monitor resolution of 1024x768 pixels. You can view the site at 800x600, but you will have to scroll left and right as well as up and down to view each page.
In our opinion, the best browsers to use (in order of our testing preference) are the latest versions of:
1. Mozilla Firefox — Download Now
2. Apple Safari — Download Now
3. Google Chrome — Download Now
4. Opera — Download Now
5. Microsoft IE 7 or 8 in Windows 2000, XP, Vista or 7 — Download IE7 / Download IE8
6. Microsoft IE 6 using the IE PNG Alpha Fix by Angus Turnbull (c) 2004-2009 Angus Turnbull http://www.twinhelix.com/css/iepngfix/. The site will not function in 5.5 or earlier versions of IE. |

| Site Layout and Navigation |
The site has been laid out organized as follows:
Header:
The FIL™ Logo serves as a home button. The Divisions Homepage Links panel links you to the home pages for Men, Women and FIL™ Lacrosse Development. There is also a Language link to the Google™ translation tool and a link to the FIL™ RSS Feeds page. |
| |
Main Menu:
This menu is always visible. Learn about FIL™, see FIL's member nations by continent, explore FIL™ competitions, rules, officiating and equipment criteria, browse the news archives and calendar of events, check out all of the great LAX Links, FIL™ contact information, or make a donation to further the FIL™ cause. |
Main Copy Area:
This is the area where specific information loads into one to three sub-sections when you click a site link or menu item. |
| |
Divisional Sub-Menu Tabs:
A Divisional sub-menu appears within the Main Copy Section whenever you choose News Archives or Calendar of Events from the Main Menu. This sub-menu allows you to view archived news stories and calendar lists sorted chronologically for just FIL™, Men's, Women's or Development items by clicking on their tabs, or you can click on the View All tab to see a complete chronological listing of items from of all the Divisions.
When you are in a specific Division, say Men's Lacrosse for example, and click on News Archives or Calendar of Events buttons, information you view in the Division Sub-Menu defaults to the Men's Lacrosse tab. To see another Division's list, click on its tab or choose View All to see the complete list. |

Footer:
This area contains general FIL™ information, links to site legal agreements, site map, FIL™ contact information and a log-in link for FIL™ site administration personnel. |

Photo Gallery Slideshows:
All Top and Feature Stories on the FIL™, Men's Lacrosse, Women's Lacrosse and Development homepages have Photo Gallery Slideshow links included. Many other stories in the News Archives have photo galleries as well. Just look for the (1) "Photos" link in the upper right corner of the full story panel or on each News Archive listing.
The Photo Gallery Slideshow is launched by clicking on the slideshow (2) main screen. You can sit back and watch the slideshow, or take control of it by clicking on the (3) pause/play icon in the lower right corner of the slideshow control bar or by clicking on one of the thumbnail images (4) below the slideshow main screen. You can also: advance or go back one slide at a time by clicking on the (5) "+" or "-" icons; go to the end or beginning of the slideshow by clicking on the (6) ">|" or "|<" icons; or launch a new window with a full size, print-ready image by clicking directly on (7) the image you want to download and save or print.
All Photo Gallery Slideshows display the (8) story that the photos are attached to below the slideshow controls bar. |
