FIL- Federation of International Lacrosse

Responsible for managing the membership program of the organization. Key duties include the presentation of new member nations and the evaluation of existing member nations as well as the management and oversight of all lacrosse development initiatives in member and non-member nations. The Director of Development chairs and selects, subject to Board approval, members of the Development Committee.

Responsible for the development, management and oversight of the organizational plans related to the men’s Indoor and Field lacrosse competitions recognized by the organization in four primary areas: rules, competition, officiating and budget. Selects, subject to Board approval, the chairs of the Men’s Rules, Men’s Competition and Men’s Officiating committees, and as a permanent member, not necessarily serving as chair, provides oversight and operational priorities for those committees.

Responsible for the development, management and oversight of the organizational plans related to all forms of women's lacrosse recognized by the organization in four primary areas: rules, competition, officiating and budget. Selects, subject to Board approval, the chairs of the Women’s Rules, Women’s Competition and Women’s Officiating committees, and as a permanent member, not necessarily serving as chair, provides oversight and operational priorities for those committees.

Serving as Treasurer, maintains correct and complete books and records of account; receives and deposits the funds of the organization in banks or other instruments; and disburses funds as approved by the Board. Provides independently audited or examined financial reports of the organization annually. Directs the organization’s budget process. Responsible for the annual Finance Report. Chairs the Budget Committee and is responsible for selecting, evaluating and replacing members of this committee.

Performs the duties of the President in the absence of the President or in the event the President is unable to serve. Is an ex-officio member (voice but no vote) of all committees. Serves as Secretary for the Board and performs all duties as required. Chairs the Nominating Committee, which is responsible for the identification, cultivation and recommendation of qualified candidates to serve positions on the Board and all of the organization's Committees. Serves on the Communications and Budget Committees, though not necessarily as chair. Selects, evaluates and replaces members of any chaired committees.

Serving as Chief Executive Officer, the President is ultimately responsible for the development and implementation of the organization's strategic plan. Serves as an ex-officio member (voice but no vote) of all committees on which he/she does not serve. Establishes agenda and timing for Board and GA meetings and presides over those meetings. Temporarily fills Board vacancies as necessary until the GA formally elects replacement for the vacancies. Serves as the formal voice of the organization to the public. Chairs the Meeting and Events Calendar Committee.
